Korean Fried Chicken - Snow Cheese Powder - Where to Get It??

OK quick one, calling to all the Korean OzB here, I love korean fried chicken especially the snow cheese flavour one.

I have been trying to find the powder here and even in Korea itself, but I have no luck getting it!!

So, tell me how and where can I buy the snow cheese powder itself???
That stuff is too addictive!

  • ICG: Sparrows Mill or any ICG chain has them

    • Thanks, but I am after the 'powder' itself so I can make it whenever I feel like eating one.

      • I also thought you are looking where the restaurants sell the dishes….
        I know one, in wollicreek

        • edited to be clearer

the restaurant selling the dish or the store selling the powder?

          • @Taro Milk Tea: the powder what he was referring to, i think

          • @Taro Milk Tea: the dish. try korean groceries at stratfield or city maybe they have the powder

            • @CyberMurning: Which one. I will go their tomorrow. I find strathfield very expensive and not so Korean now but smelling a bit Indian, and find the city more relivant

I heard Lidcombe is also a good suburb for good korean food? Anyone been there before?

                • @Taro Milk Tea: The entire Eastern side of Eastwood is Korean restaurants, grocery stores, and everything else. There's at least 4 large Korean grocery stores.

  • +1

mix a spoon of parmesan cheese (or white, shreddable cheese) with 1/2 tsp of cornstarch and a pinch of garlic salt/onion salt to taste.

    • Hmmm….I think it doesn't really taste much of parmesan, also it has some sweetness in the flavour.

      • google search says Grana Padano cheese, and add some white sugar to taste. I suggested starting with just a spoon of cheese so you make it for a single serve, and adjust as you go. You'll get it 3rd or 4th try.

And this is what I've found, not sure if you can ship it to Australia. Use google chrome to view for auto-translation.

        • Yes, it could be that one! Shame doesn't ship it to Australia!

Thanks, will give it a crack

    • there's definitely either sugar or honey hint there

Cheddar, flour, sugar, in addition to original. What I heard. I'll ask for how much next time.

    • Thanks!! Please do update me again!!

  • Anyone got know of a source for the swicy sauce that nene chicken does? That stuff is crack!

    • it doesn't like shipment down under.

    • Exactly what I want!! No shipping to Oz tho :((

Why can't they sell this in their groceries….grr

      • Oh weird, it says shipping available on the listing but then when you checkout it says not available to your country but gives you an international shipping rate wtf haha

  • Such as sol ria for a restaurant, cheap food the 1 half in the tunnel near townhall station and for basic food any where in the city of you know what your after but strathfield.

  • Had snow cheese for the first time yesterday.

    1 part ground parmesan
    1 part dried milk powder
1/2 to 1 part soft icing sugar mix (Depending on how sweet you want it.)

I'm pretty sure there's some butter flavouring in there. Like the stuff in popcorn salt. But I don't have any of that.
