  • At this year a lot of freight providers won't even entertain quotes.
You will need to understand if your cleaning chemicals count as 'dangerous' goods.
Get in contact with your previous provider.
Use Google to find courier companies and contact their small to medium business sales team.

I am trying to ask people in the know. I assume there are quality answers in here to push in the right direction.

After a better answer than "Do a Google search"
That is about SEO or SEM and is not what I am after.

    Thanks for the read.

    • what did your previous freight provider say when you asked them?
what volume are you sending short term and long term?
are you willing to work with more than one freight provider - metro vs interstate vs post.
      how is your freight packaged?
do you want a direct relationship manager, do you have enough volume to warrant one?
      Sendle is a freight broker.
      Austpost business is viable.
      Than you have the rest.
      Couriers Please
      Kings
      Fastway
      Toll
      Direct Couriers
      Officeworks mailman
Get in contact with their SME team and get rates but you will need to do your own backyard work. If you've done this in the past it should be easy for you.

  • +1

"Value" and "Freight" can't really be used in the same sentence anymore.

We use these guys for our micro business:
    sendle.com.au
    bigpost.com.au
Aust Post (mypostbusiness 15% off for small business volume senders)

    • Interesting.

Is the cleaning product freight out a issue do you think. Or is it all generally covered… under one banner.

Not talking corrosive issue. But would make a dam mess if damaged in transit.

  • I’ve only ever used them for one off freight, but have always found Sendle to be good. No idea if their premium/business oriented plans would suit what you’re after, but might be worth a look.

Just be wary that they’re essentially just a front-end to other couriers - so you might still get customers raging out at you if the end delivery is through one of the many hopeless couriers out there (Fastway comes to mind).

    • IME Sendle are fine until you have a problem - their support for a couple of situations I had was pathetic - I won't use them again even though they are cheap.

  • Transdirect is a broker / gateway (like Sendle) but you can choose the courier company of your choice. It's cheaper than going direct with the courier company. Register for better prices than you can see as a guest.

  • Would imagine Sendle and MyPost Business would be the better options for low quantities assuming you’re selling these individually.

You could probably add Fastway / CouriersPlease into the mix at a later date once volumes are high enough.

Personally, I’d probably roll with MyBusiness on the basis that it’s a process that will always work (e.g. if you get a PO Box, Residential or Business address it will always work) and then worry about freight efficiency once it’s actually going to provide benefit.
