What Do You Do with Your Christmas Leftovers?

We love Christmas with our families, but now our fridge is overflowing with lamb, ham, chicken, turkey, stuffing, gravy, vegetables, other vegan foods, pudding, custard, cream, and milk, but none of the essential food groups, seafood, pork, crackling, potatoes or beer.

What do you do with your Christmas leftovers?

If you are in Sydney, I'd more than happily take some off your hands:)

Portion the meats, veggies and gravy into serving size portions and freeze.
Buy yourself a Kmart pie maker and some frozen pastry
Make easy pies for breakfast and/or lunches over the coming days

    • Agreed
Except Ham does not tend to freeze well

      • Ham is OK if you use it chopped up in something like a stir fry.

Ours are given away to each family that we celebrate Christmas with. Otherwise we would have this same problem.

Cut everything up into bite size chunks. Place in a pot. Add favorite curry sauce and heat. Serve on a bed of steamed rice.

    Repeat for next 6 nights.

    Freeze until the next Christmas.

  • You container it all up and you give to those less resource greedy.
    Stop waisting food.

  • In the fridge for subsequent meals.
No cooking for a few days

Put some in takeaway containers and head into town and look for any homeless people begging for money/food.
You will really make their day. :)

  • I steam the meat. Basically, wrap in foil, include a small amount of 100% apple juice in the foil parcel. 180 degrees in oven for about 40-60 mins. Lovely, tender and moist leftover meat. Repeat until finished!
