Cheapest 1TB NVMe SSD?

Looking to upgrade the OS/ Programs drive on the new laptop and give extra storage. Currently has a Toshiba bg3 256gb 2230 nvme.

Wondering if anyone has the crucial p1 nvme 1tb? Reliable/quick? Not a gamer so the evo 970 pro is overkill. I've had crucial (m550) and samsung (840) before and both have served me well, and the p1 is guaranteed compatible.

    Silicon Power 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 TLC SSD (SP001TBP34A60M28) $154 from umart

    • Thanks @Garetz

      Have you used the silicon power? Are they reliable? Faster than the p1?

      Best p1 price I can find is $144(crucial direct from USA 99.99usd) so if this is a lot better for only a little more that'd be good.

      I'm also looking to upgrade my current 256gb to 1TB on my laptop. I've been eyeing the SP 1TB P34A80 which is currently $186 on Amazon. Just hanging in there for a sale…

      The main difference is speed

      P34A60 = R/W up to 2,200MB/s, 1,600MB/s
      P34A80 = R/W up to 3,400MB/s, 3,000MB/s

      Read through comments for ozbers who have bought it

      I'm waiting for it to hit approx $153 again (set date range to 1 month)

  • Reviews say Silicon being TLC unlike QLC isn't prone to the huge slowdowns after transferring large files, so I'd say go for the S power.
