How Regularly Does JB Hi-Fi Do Their $500 Port in Offers? and Recommendations on Non-Telstra Providers?

My current contract with Tesltra is up, I'm thinking of porting out to Boost or someone similar for a few months until they have another bargain, and then porting in for the $500 gift card.

Anyone have any idea how often they come around? Seem to be a bit more common during the silly season unfortunately.

Also, I work in the bush, so I need to have a provider on the Telstra network. Does anyone have any recommendations for a provider who uses Telstra network that isn't Telstra? I probably go through around 30 gigs of data a month.

Thanks!

    Think it was $400 yesterday.

    • Thanks - don't suppose you have a link? I can only see on their site that they are advertising credit for buying a phone + plan.

Be wary of Telstra MVNO as they do not offer the same performance as Telstra.

    Just a heads up.
Telstra may not consider you a new port in customer if you port in from another brand that uses the Telstra network (belong, boost and Aldi for example)

    • Oh dear, maybe it's time to consider changing my number then!

nah you can be port from aldi and be considered a new customer, but they don’t have full total capacity of telstra towers but very close to it I believe.

But boost and belong you can't port in from. I tried today
