A3 All-in-One Printer / Scanner / Copier with Ink Tank

My a4 canon pixma all in one printer with Rihac CISS (continuous ink supply system) has died a slow painful death and i can not resuscitate it anymore.

Now that you can buy printers with CISS built in i.e. ink tank printers I would like one of those. I would also like to upgrade to A3.

but I would also like to be able to eat.

When i bought that printer and system years ago the CISS cost as much as the printer so i guess it makes sense an ink tank one is going to be pricier than a regular printer.

Can anyone find me a bargain though?

    I use an A3+ photo printer with tank chip deserter and refills. It actually does a great job with photos but you wouldn’t want to print a stack of documents with it. Takes too long.

    I transplanted my Rihac CISS from a worn out Epson WorkForce to a new model. Both use the same inks and cartridges.

    I did buy new cartridges ~$20 as the black cartridge started to leak.

    So I'm still using the system and all of the ink I bought a year or two back.

      my Rihac system is a lot older than that i can't remember but 5+ years

      it started to unprime all the time several years ago

      they told me to buy new seals and replace them

      which i did

      and it did not work

      they still unprime all the time - air goes all up through the tubes

      i have to go through the elaborate process every week

      it drives me nuts

      ink gets everywhere

      i think it like the printer has also aged beyond the point where i want to keep resussing it

        New cartridges… ~$20 - cheaper than a non Epson one with ink. I rang them for advice, very helpful, very good to speak to.

        i am, though going by the volume i print (probably less than 1000 pages a year) CISS not as important for me
