Best 4 Wheels Large suitcase?

Hi all, after a new suitcase, after one of the wheels of my previous one broke. Pretty much useless now.

As you could tell, my biggest concern with those 4 wheels luggage is how easy the wheels can be broken during transit, especially after seeing luggages thrown around by baggage handlers. Is there one with reinforced wheel? Or even hidden wheel? Hoping to score one during end of year sale.

  • I know what you mean re: reinforced wheels - 2x wheels on my Samsonite hardcase had to be repaired following first o/s trip. Only good thing was that they broke on return trip to Aus & it was under warranty.

My husband has had better luck with the Samsonite 72 Hours Deluxe Large 78cm - it's a softcase & huge but no wheel issues in over 7 domestic & o/s trips now.

    • You could find two wheels with hidden wheels quite easily, but so far I couldnt find one 4 wheels with that feature. With kids, 4 wheels is a must for me unfortunately.

  • I would stay away from Samsonite. Bought a 72 Hours set and nothing but grief from wheels to handles to locks.

Should have stuck to Antler, old set going strong after nearly 10 years but wife wanted a nicer looking set.

Will likely get this set next https://luggagehub.com.au/collections/luggage/products/antleā€¦

  • The issue with most 4 wheels one is the wheels often exposed too much, and often the weakest part of the suitcase. Catch 22 I guess?

  • Using an old model Octolite 68cm Spinner (12 international flights) and a new model Octolite 75cm Spinner (2 international and 5 domestic flights).
No problems at all, I walked a lot with them to car rentals and hotels. The 68cm one did at least 12km of city walking on quite bad roads. It still has all the wheels.
They come with 10 years (limited) global warranty and repair centres are almost everywhere. I keep the receipt in the suitcase.

    • Warranty is all well and nice, but when your wheel broke in the middle of nowhere, It's a nightmare trying to drag kids and luggage. Claiming warranty in foreign country probably last thing in our mind. So I'd rather spend good money on really good built one. But thanks for the suggestion on octolite.
