NOKIA C2-01 3G MOBILE PHONE

Hi people.
I have bought a brand new NOKIA 3G phone, the good old C2 phone
But
It only shows Optus and Vodaphone
ie.
It does not seem to want to connect to Telstra where my SIM card is from…………

anyone know how to fix this seemingly simple problem?

PS: Using my NOKIA Suite I can see phone status is showing as "UNLOCKED"
Phone was advertised as "UNLOCKED" at purchase too

anyone know what is going on here?
thanks in advance

  • Your phone doesn't support 850mhz used by Telstra……. Sorry but won't work.

  • Is that right eh ?

    wow

But OPTUS and VODAPHONE use another frequency then, is that what you are saying ?

    cheers.

Someone suggested on the Network Mode to select Dual Mode from Dual, UMTS or GSM.

If you are with Telstra then from the 1st of December you will need to select umts only as they will be shutting down their 2g network from the mentioned date.

  • There's two versions of this device.

    • UMTS 900 - Optus & Vodafone
    • UMTS 850 - Telstra

I suspect you purchased the UMTS 900 instead of 850.
