I was looking for some squatting shoes, and I came across these two. Not the best looking shoes but I've heard especially good things about the Legacy Lifters.

Or squat and deadlift barefoot, might be against gym policy though

    • i find barefoot the best. i've been doing this for yrs

You can deadlift barefoot but doing a squat barefoot would require firm flooring.

Too old to do silly things.

      • do whatever suits u the best

Until you need Medicare and disability support. Sure.

          • @[Deactivated]: sigh… chill…

'coz ur feet & ankles lack the strength. my coach the 1st thing taught us was building strength on those.

These are actually for Olympic lifts like hang clean or jerk. better not use it for squats and definitely not recommended for deadlifts. It changes the centre of mass which may result in an improper form

    • I have never seen an Olympic lift (i.e. snatch or clean and jerk) that is not initiated with a form of deadlift or that doesn't involve a squat position at heavy weight.

Also, your hang power clean must be amazing and I'd love to know how you move the bar to hang position without deadlifting it from the floor?

I really don't know what to say to someone who thinks DL and hang clean are using the same movement pattern from the ground. you lack the very basic knowledge of physical strength training.
I hope you have a coach to spot you or at least do some research before you do your heavy DL in the WL shoes.

@TheDoctor: "I have never seen an Olympic lift (i.e. snatch or clean and jerk) that is not initiated with a form of deadlift "
No, an Olympic lift is not initiated with of form of DL, they are very different form in various ways. Go ask a coach or do your own research. You are doing it seriously wrong if you initiate your lift from a deadlift form.

  • Thanks OP, got a pair. Not all stores stock these shoes, check the Rebel website for stock availability.
