Ombra Daily Defence Light Feel Sunscreen Moisturiser SPF50+ 60ml, Lacura Q10 Daily SPF15 75ml $2 (Special Buys) @ ALDI

280

I had been eyeing this at Aldi last year when it was being sold at $3.99 then $2.59, telling myself that I didn't need yet another sunscreen, then regreted not buying it when I saw this reddit thread about how it was no longer on the shelves, and several positive comments about the product. It is suitable for use on the face, supposedly dries matte and works well under make-up. It has both UVA/UVB filters, is fragrance-free and paraben-free, and is made in Australia.

But it looks like it will be back next Wednesday as a special buy at only $2! Time to grab one to try.

There's also an SPF 15 Q10 daily moisturiser 75ml for $2 as part of this catalogue.

  • Well, if Reddit says it's good…..

  • It's awful
if it gets into eye prepare to wash them for 2 hours - it burns like hell

    • Oh really? It's definitely this seasonal 'light feel' one and not another Ombra sunscreen? They make several ones in tubes.

Yeah, I didn't like it either. It did dry relatively matte, but it's not light and you can definitely feel it on your face. The Cancer Council Day Wear Facial matte sunscreen is pretty good for a wear under make-up and matte drying. If your skin is a bit drier, then the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel facial sunscreen is great because it leaves your skin much more moist without the stickiness/shine of normal sunscreen - the only downside is it has a very strong fragrance to it which may not be everyone's cup of tea.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I have tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel which I love the texture of, unfortunately it stung my eyes - not that I applied it near my eyes, but over the course of time it kinda crept up and starting stinging. I'm using it on my body instead now.

Have heard good things about the cancer council matte sunscreen too.

Try Biore uv aqua rich watery essence. Its about $11-$15 depends on where you buy it from and is the only sunscreen I'll ever wear on my face. Always stock up when I travel to Asia.

    • I got that from Japan a few years ago, great stuff.
