The 6x Embossed Glass Hiballs 450mL $3.5 are good Glasses.

    • can second this, thick and not slippy

These lose there colour coating in the dishwasher and feel gritty after that

      • To be expected with that low-quality Anko brand that Kmart would flood the store with these days.

  • also at chadstone i saw them today.

  • Nothing at Mt Druitt

  • was jsut at burwood and didnt see any

    • +3

      Were you wearing these glasses?

I've purchased some glasses from Kmart before and the quality was very bad. Had multiple shatter while washing them up. Coworker of mine had a similar problem and ended up with some serious damage to her hand.

I have other glasses (mostly coke branded ones) that I haven't damaged after owning for much longer periods.

These were the Kmart homebrand cheap ones.

    • Glass don’t break unless you are not careful. With a little care they ca last a long time

      • +7

Yes, but at the same time. Any internal stress inside the glass could cause it to break. I.e. bad manufacturing processes

+1 am not dissing however I got a set of the Beaker glass's before Chrissy and they are scary thin, so careful with them…

  • Thanks, will check my local store tomorrow morning

Those printer yellow stickers on items mean it’s a manager/store mark down. The yellow clearance stickers that get attached to shelves represent nation wide generally.

For example if you scan the actual products barcode at the self serve or a price checker area in the store it would scan at the regular price.

    • When reviewing the 2nd post we can note both the printed yellow stickers and then a 'generic' Yellow Shelf Ticket?!?
      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/210713/75965/img_20200…
So your indicating because the yellow shelf ticket is devoid any description for the glasses but the yellow stickers are 'most likely' a localised sale to that store and or region?

It makes sense because it was not in any catalogues and not present online.

      • In the second post that yellow generic sticker attached to the shelves appears to be store made. When a item goes on clearance nation wide it should look a little different.

Have you ever been to Woolies or a Coles and notice that sometimes their fresh food produce or chickens etc are marked down with a similar yellow clearance sticker attached? If you somehow scan the barcode on the actual product it will scan up as full price price? It’s similar to this example of the mugs.

Generally the yellow generic clearance stickers that get attached to the shelves at Kmart that are nation wide will include the product, the key code and a description of the item.

Been in need of some new glasses, thanks for sharing.

    • Just get some free ones through the current Coles promotion ;)

      • +1

They are not “free” though. One should accumulate min of 25 credits. $20 shopping = 1 credit. That is damn expensive.

        • +1

I shop there all the time and have a family so I have boxes of them just stashed in the laundry. The cupboard is overflowing!

    • +5

Some people just drink out of the glasses they buy.

    • Glass isn't landfill…

      • You can't recycle drinking glasses…

        • +1

You know, I actually didn't know that until you said it and it made me Google it

Just 5 grams of glass from drinking glassware is enough to contaminate an entire ton of recyclable glass, so it is important to get your glass recycling right.

Hey, learnt my new thing for the day

Not suitable for hot liquids mind you.

  • +1

This would be store specific as it’s a managers markdown (because yellow sticker is used)

    • Christmas stock so should be discounted everywhere.

    • Thanks employee for the explanation of manager vs nationwide discount stickers.

They are in Richmond, VIC too, though felt like they were cheap quality so ended up leaving behind.

    • cheap quality at Kmart? No way :D

  • Also at Lidcombe NSW
