Our thoughts are with the people affected by this unprecedented disaster, and with the brave men and women at the fire front who are working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

The Galeries is managed by Vicinity Centres. We, as a business, will make a cash donation to The Salvation Army and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal to help those affected by the ongoing bushfire crisis.

Today, Thursday 9th January, over 30 of Australia’s leading retailers will provide 100% of their profits to support the Bushfire Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

    Why not give the revenue?

    • Some retailers have stated they will donate 100% of sales today.
      Some have stated xx% of their profits.
      Some have stated xx% of their online sales.
      Some have specific items or ranges with a stated xx% donated.
      Some are donating a specific $ amount, plus sales-based %.

      Up to each business I suppose.

    • Why not give the revenue?

      Likely they have decided the value of the advertising received is not worth that cost.

      But hey, they're doing something at least (assuming they don't have a tricky tax structure that ensures they always make a loss).
