[NSW] Herman Miller Mirra 2 Task Chair $1147 (15% off) @ Living Edge Shop (Alexandria)

150

I walked into the Livingedge showroom @ Alexandria ( near Sydney ) and checked out the Herman Miller Mirra 2. The lady at the showroom was helpful and told me that they are giving 15% off on the chair price of 1350$. This chair is configured with all bells and whistles .
Has butterfly back, tilt mechanisms ( front and back ), arm rests and etc.

Shipping is extra 80$ and their warehouse is in Alexandria too.

The chair was very comfy for the 10min I tested. I am planning to go again and test it out for some more time and pick it up once I have made up my mind.

PS : They are having 15% off on all herman miller chairs.

Wait for a black friday sale imo, i got myself an aeron for $1375. Also depends on how long you're willing to wait

  • Your price is wrong. The link you provided shows the price as $1450(-15% = $1232.5) + postage.

    EDIT: If it was $1350(-15% = $1,147.5‬) + postage.

EDIT: Or buy a secondhand armless version from eBay for $587.5 ($625-6% [3% Cashback + eBay 3%])

They are under $200 for the second hand ones without arm-rest on Gumtree and about $250 for the ones with the arm rests

Yeah but those ones on Gumtree etc aren’t the task chairs and most of them appears to be fairy worn out. Task chairs are substantially taller (that really should he called a stool) than the normal offerings.

Hello . I went to their showroom yesterday and spoke to them. They said the Herman Miller Mirra 2 with everything configured is 1350$ and on top of that they are giving 15 percent off . So you can take it home by paying 1147 $ . + shipping if you can’t pick it up from their Alexandria warehouse . I’m probably going to go to their showroom again to test it out for another round . Even spend some time on the Aeron chair .

  • Is it possible to buy the arms for them seperately?

  • I started to hate my Mirra. Very uncomfortable for long periods I found, super heavy/clunky and didn't like not having armrests. Thankfully only paid $50 on Gumtree and sold it for a profit. The 2 might be better but if I was going to spend good money on a chair i'd probably go for the Embody.

    • I recently bought a 2nd hand Mirra that has armrest, I don't find it uncomfortable with long gaming sessions and the heavy weight of it is great IMO. It means it doesn't just roll around on you if you want to put your feet up on something.

I switched my wheels out for roller Blade Wheels and it now moves around great, just don't get your cat/dog underneath it when moving or else he will lose a tail.

Great chair, but the Aeron is better IMO. I ended up paying ~ $1100 for mine through them. Corporate discount. If you work for a large corporate, maybe dig around for staff benefits etc.

    • Did you get a corporate discount from Living Edge or another supplier?

  • I love my Embody. Definitely worth checking it if you're looking for a Herman miller chair.

Embody is a great chair, i have one and absolutely love it

only complaint is that it squeaks all the time when i move but def most comfortable out of the 3

Tried Mirra and Aeron but finalised on Steelcase Leap - happily using for the last 6 years, no complaints.

    • Bought a Steelcase Leap V2 on Thursday after extensive research. Glad to hear you've no complaints!

      • Where did you get your steelcase chair from? There dont seem to be many places in Sydney where to try them out.

        • Steelcase has a showroom in Pyrmont when I tried and placed the order. That was 6 years ago.

        • There are only a few dealers around, but you can search for them on the Steelcase website IIRC. Much better off buying used though, brand new the Steelcase Leap V2 goes for over 1k, but you can pick them up on Gumtree for under $250 still in excellent condition.

Someone on another thread a few years back mentioned this company stocking Steelcase hence I looked into it. They appear to be one of the few authorised resellers and that's important to action the "Global Lifetime Warranty". Mine is being delivered on Monday. Paid $968 delivered.

      • Tried HM but preferred Leap for its better ergonomics that favour my body type. Has been using it 5 days a week for 8/9 hours/day still looks new.

    • Its a good chair, better value and more comfortable than the Mirra, but I wish they wouod make a larger one as I find it a bit small

  • I have the Aeron Remastered, after buying, trying and returning the Mirra 2. I'd definitely recommend LE for their willingness to exchange, esp when you're spending this kinda dough. I must have tested the different chairs for about an hour in their showroom, and when I got home I STILL changed my mind - and they happily allowed me to swap over.

For me, the Mirra 2 has more of a drop at the back (ie less buttock support) compared to the Aeron. The mesh "cushion" of the Aeron makes a massive difference to both ventilation but also comfort, compared to your average Officeworks leather/fabric chair. I do wish the armrests could be extended further forward, though, and also locked.

Mesh chairs are crap. Half a dozen of these Herman Miller chairs can always be found on Gumtree for like $400, which is still too much IMO.

  • I've used a Mirra for the last 4 years and it's great but I really wish it had a headrest, I'd say the aeron is worth it for that alone if you get the add on.
