Bluetooth Receiver for PC Recommendations

Hi all, after a bluetooth receiver for my pc. Will be mostly used to connect my PS4 controller wirelessly. Not necessarily after the cheapest, I would much prefer something more stable and reliable.
Thanks!

Any $5 receiver that's Bluetooth 4.0 from ebay will do the trick. Have used several, never any issues.

    • Excellent thank you. No issues with connecting the ps4 controller as well?

    • This mentions audio, but would it be fine?

      Thanks

      • Yeah that should be fine, I actually specifically use it to connect the ps4 controllers so definitely works fine.

I bought these: Simplecom USB Bluetooth 4.0 (search on ebay for that)
They're a bit more compact than the one you linked.

      • Some of those bluetooth audio dongles only take power from USB, and all they do is receive bluetooth audio and pump it out a 3.5mm jack, or vice-versa. I would recommend a dongle that does not mention 3.5mm audio.

Also, there are only really three main manufacturers of bluetooth chipsets:
        - intel
        - broadcomm
        - CSR (now bought/owned by qualcomm)

Almost everyone else is repackaging one of those three, often CSR in the cheap ones, and broadcomm in the more expensive ones.

I'd recommend the broadcomm based dongles on my own testing. Apple also uses broadcomm fwiw.
