That's a lot to spend on socks. Even with a $250 price reduction.

    • Buy it for life

  • +11

    Ehhhh… Nah. Joke post?

  • +2

I read 42 pairs of cigars for $399

    • You missed the 'Happy Socks' in front of "cigar box'?

      • +2

Unless I get a "Happy Ending" I'm not interested.

        • +1

          That's still expensive.

  • +4

Got one pair. IMO it's worth $5 a pair, no more.
For this one, I guess the $300 goes to the box.

    • -1

Bulk buy from factory is less than 60 cents a pair.

      • Cannot agree more. No idea what makes them think that price is gonging to sell…

  • +1

it is an okay deal if it is around 200-250. now it is still not reasonable.

  • +1

I’d rather have a box of cigars tbh

  • +10

hmm, an Xbox One X or a box of socks.. tough call, lol

    • +1

      Hey, Dr Seuss!

Maybe a quick brown fox or a pile of rocks?

  • +18

    This deal socks.

    • +4

In defense of the op, many of the socks you linked were still $9 after discount. At that price, the wooden box is only $21

      • +1

        wELL sAID jIMMY

    • stock looks pretty minimal unfortunately.

  • +21

Don't think I'd be too happy wearing socks that remind me that I'm an idiot.

  • +5

Like Apple, whacking a brand name on it doesn't justify a 20% price increase.

    • +15

Lol, i assure you Apple price increase is much more than 20%

    • Can you really put a price on happiness though? They are after all 'Happy' socks…

  • +3

i just need one white sock.
this box is too rich for me

    • +1

Isn't the other in the draw to your bedside table?

      • +1

I checked. I found a sock there but it’s not white.

  • +2

"pretty sweet looking box" I've got loads of those. They even slide neatly out of the way into this great piece of furniture I have in the corner of our room. Cost a bit more than this, but it is at least twenty times larger and holds way more, not just socks.

    • Cryptic way of saying you have a cupboard..?

      • +1

Sshh, don't let everyone in on it.

  • +17

i was close to buying this but no cigar.

  • +4

I'm always slightly annoyed when I have to spend $10 on a three pack of socks and I only like two pairs. I seething at the thought of spending $399 on 42 pairs where I can see at least 41 will make me look like a complete twat.

  • +1

Do they actually last though? I bought a set of Mitch Dowd socks and they dont last any longer than the worst Kmart brand.

    • +2

It is overpriced as quality is average.only plus are its funky colours/designs.

      • what is good quality brands?

        • +1

Happy socks are average quality at best. From my experience with them, they barely lasted a year of use and started falling apart and heading towards threadbare patches within six months or so. David Jones own brand have proven much better and are really comfy.

  • +7

After they go through the wash once, they ain't going back in the box like that 😂

  • +4

    can't they make a 48 pair box???
then would not have to double up on casual friday socks all year.

    • +1

You mean you're not a teacher?

      • +1

this box would last 2 years of casual fridays for those lollygaggers.

  • +2

I wish a had a shit-ton of money for crap like this.

    • same. i would buy it just for the box and donate all the socks.

  • Wata rip

  • +1

Even if I did buy this box, there's no way those socks are going back in once used. They'll end up all over the place and out of pair like all my others :)

  • +3

I wonder why Myers & DJ's are struggling?

  • Tell them they're dreaming.

  • +1

    Might already be expired

Jeez. Wear their socks but their prices are too high nowadays. Seem to remember getting them for $8-10 a sock at some stage, most of the price has to be for the box here, disappointing a bulk amount of socks isn’t cheaper per sock when on sale.

  • +1

    Thanks, brought two.

  • $450 full of cigars.. SOLD
