Parramatta Park Noise - Is It Loud and How Often?

Hi All,

Was looking to rent in Westmead and has been to a few inspections.
Most weekends have been alright except for this Saturday.

The noise from Parramatta Park was ridiculous. Apparently it was from an event called FOMO2020?

The agent mentioned that there are events but it is RARELY this loud.

Can any confirm and share their experience of living around Parramatta Park?

I feel like if it was rarely that loud that they would have booked the inspection at that time/day.

    • I've been in Westmead for almost a year (more the south side of Westmead). The only noisy events I've noticed there were the carols just before Christmas and the event last Saturday. I've been walking through occasionally when they've closed it off to cars for cycling/walking/kids events, but they are just through the day and no real issue with noise.

The carols you coudn't hear much outside of the park. The Saturday one was the only one that I've heard from my place, and if I lived near the train station I probably would have had an issue (more because of the bad music though, so maybe I'm just getting old). But if it's just once/twice a year I could live with that.

      • Same. I am looking near the station and wanted to work out if it really was just that Saturday. Thanks for sharing.

  • It'll be just as loud (probably louder as there are more stages) when they have Ultra - https://www.parrapark.com.au/things-to-do/whats-on/ultra-aus…

You'll probably find a few music festivals a year during the spring/summer season.

Having lived in Parra and using the park a lot to run around its rarely used for big noisey events. You'll probably have 4-5 events that are noisey throughout the yr. While theres probably around big events there a yr most arent loud, but they do attract a lot of ppl which makes parking on street anywhere near impossible.

    • Thanks, Would you consider this weekend's event one of the loud ones?

      • yes, they dont have many music festivals, the other big ones are Aust Day (a few stages but only 1 goes past about 9pm) & the other is New Yrs Fireworks.

As a festival goer, if you don't like the noise (for the half a dozen events that happen there each year) I suggest you buy somewhere else, a little further out. Don't be like those people who move in to places (like near Luna Park for example) and know full well that there will be noise, then complain and complain and live life in misery, and then forces Luna Park to partially shut down. There is always that type of resident in every single suburb. Don't be that guy.
