Have an old car and am looking for a bluetooth device for hands free calls and for music. Please post recommendations.

The Jabra Freeway has really good sound and microphone quality, https://www.umart.com.au/Jabra-SPEAKERPHONE-FREEWAY_36161G.h…

I got told it was much better than the handsfree built into my H/U. Also really good battery life.

Get Officeworks to price match Umart.

Change the headunit, should be pretty easy in an old car, and result would be better than some extra speaker floating around
Maybe something like this would be pretty good, and then you might pay $50-$100 for installation (not sure, always done it myself)

I've been pretty happy with Sony units around $150-$200, and car stereos are on sale pretty often. Always seemed like there was a 30% off sale somewhere every few weeks

    • Agreed, one with a microphone that clips on the sun visor that you can aim at your mouth.

Beware that people outside your car will be able to easily hear the other party on the phone.

  • Yeah get a a new head unit/stereo
The other units that clip to sun visors are ok for talking but not designed for music

I also always forgot to turn my the visor units off and would be flat when you wanted it to talk on the phone
