Cloud alpha is still only $20 more, is a better buy IMO.

taking a recommendation of a 'better' communication device, from an ID moniker like onlinepred is a worry! lol

      • It's a worry, but who would know best right?

To be fair though, there really isn't much in it all between the two, and if you are stretching to get the cloud 2's, they will be fantastic. It's only if you were looking at paying say over $100, so could still consider getting the alpha.

Been using the Cloud Alpha for more than a year. Great headset and the mic isn't too bad either.

Bought my alpha in 2018 and it hasn't skipped a beat. I routinely recommend it for it's price, sound quality, comfort and build quality.

If there was any feature that I would like that it doesn't, it's that retractable mic that my son's Razer has. That being said, this mic is removable, so I guess it's the next best thing.

I was trying to decide between the Alphas at $109 or the Cooler Master MH751 at $99, and got the 751 instead. Bear in mind the Alphas are pretty much a rebrand of the Takstar Pro 80 and the 751 are a rebrand of the Takstar Pro 82. My friend has Alphas so after comparing the 2 here are some major differences:

-The 751s are way more comfy, the earpads are plush and deep while the Alphas have a harder and shallower earpad, so my ears did touch the drivers. The kicker though are the earcups that actually rotate so they fit your head better.
-Sound wise the Alphas do bass way better, they are impactful, thumping and more fun to use in game. However you may prefer the more balanced sound of the 751 for competetive gaming so you can hear footsteps better. I'm no audiophile but for if you also want to use these for music and like your bass, go with the Alphas, the bass is great and overall it sounds more lively than my 751. That's not to say the 751 doesn't have any bass, it's just not as present as on the Alphas. The soundstage though is much wider on the 751 which helps in games and music.
-Both have great mic quality, probably using the same hardware since they are from the same company.

Personally, if I took the drivers from the Alphas and used the headband and earcups of the MH751, I'd have a killer headset on my hands.

  • I can vouch for the alpha. Had it for two years and still going strong.

  • Cloud Flight for $149

Not their all time low, but still a great price, especially so in the context of the Alphas and the Cloud II.

  • Careful you don't get the Cloud Alphas with B.O problem
Had this happen at JB and got it refunded.
