Number Porting Pre-Paid

Which mobile sim carrier is the best for keeping one's mobile number on a 6-12 month pre-paid plan.
Thanks.

  • Do you need to use the number? If you want just want to keep the number, then I think TPG $1/month plan is your best bet. https://www.tpg.com.au/mobile

Edit: Just found out there is a $10 sim charge + $20 prepayment fee though, FYI. If it is 6 to 12 months, maybe something else might be better value.

  • depends on what network you are on at the moment… avoid ports on the same network if every possible

Aldi. A $5 sim with PAYG credit has a 12 month expiry, so you just need to top up within 12 months.
And if you are travelling or something and come back for a visit, buying a value pack for a month will be separate from PAYG credit, and won't affect that 12 month expiry
