Opinions: Need an Awning or Some Way to Block Afternoon Sun

I saw this and it got me researching. The pricing for awnings is all over the place, it seems. Is this awning junk, or is it decent?

It's going to be in a fairly protected area so not a lot of wind. We're trying to limp along atm as the new place needs a lot of work done. Just trying to not burn-up in my workspace.

Ta!

I preferred the windoware solid blinds over the instahut stuff as it looks a bit too fragile.

I really need the size of the other, though. I wish I knew people who know how to do this stuff vs. hiring.

I'm not against hiring, but my experiences have been bad—- no matter how much I research. AU over-stresses tradesmen but then they do lackluster work! I'm just wanting to do this stuff myself now, but don't want it to fall apart.

    :(

  • I had this problem and ended up measuring the width and buying a Bunnbgs Outdoor Bamboo Blind. Bunnings has installation videos for most products and a workshop forum. My friend installed it with a drill. It came with screw in hooks

  • I bought an Instahut 4m x 2.5m retractable awning about 3 months ago and it has been great, especially for the price. We've used it nearly every day.
We always wind it in if it's windy but it seems quite sturdy to me.
Took a few hours to put together and install and get the adjustments right.
    Got in on Ebay.
