Where do you keep the nuclear waste? On a plan(e)?

      • We could keep it in my backyard.

Most people obviously know that already but don't assume everyone has the same needs as you. As per my post this is for when you don't want a 6/12 month commitment. There are many reasons why you may not want one.

To name a few you may actually be really strapped for cash and can't afford to pay a whole year upfront, or you may be waiting for a decent mobile plan + phone contract deal to pop up, or you may just be jumping around between cheap mobile provider promotions, or you are conscious that your data usage habits may change at any time in the next 12 months.

      • I think Belong $10/month is pretty good value. Unfortunately that is only 1GB/month, however if you need more data you can buy it off gumtree for $0.40/GB.

However if you live in a capital city, and don't want to be messing around on Gumtree, i guess you could go with a non-Telstra option.

  • Excess data charges are a killer

I will not touch Moose Mobile with a ten foot pole.

When I signed up with them for a trial a few months ago I needed a credit card.

Then when I cancelled my phone plan trial with them before expiration they still charged my credit card, requiring me to go through the motion of getting a merchant refund through my bank and cancelling my last credit card.

I told them I was going to cancel my trial before the end of the trial period.

They still went ahead and made an unauthorized charge on my credit card.

I reckoned based on that behavior they could not be trusted to do the right thing.

So when I saw the unauthorized charge on my credit card statement I pulled the nuclear option , which was to ask for a merchant refund and cancel my credit card.

By the way , they made it very difficult to change phone service provider from them to another phone service provider.

I had to jump through a couple more hoops than usual to change from them to a new phone service provider.

So again , sign up at your own risks.

And never again will I use my credit card to sign up for any phone service in Australia.

Stay away from this mob and their racket.

Same thing happened to me with Spintel. Had to get TIO and bank involved to clear it up.

  • anyone had any experience with asking vodafone or any phone mob to price match? is that a usual thing?

They are very difficult to deal with when trying to cancel.

    • Can you elaborate what the issue was? I actually have not dealt with Moose Mobile before so would be interested to know since they seem to have an abundance of positive reviews about their customer service on both Product Review and on Whirlpool.

      • See my post above somewhere.

      • I rang to cancel, and they did not want to do it. They said to keep the service until the end of the month and ring back and cancel then. I said I did not want to do that and wanted to cancel now. I had to plead with them a few times and was nearly in tears. Finally they cancelled the service.
