Reporting online Fraud through ACORN

Hey Guys,

Quite a few months ago my father (74 years of age) was the victim of an online investment scam.

Upon approaching the Victorian Police they have immediately redirected us to the ACORN website (https://www.cyber.gov.au/report) due to the fact the online entity that scammed my father is International.

In parallel I have managed to track down where exactly the scammers reside (Israel) through the assistance of a Private Investigator (In Israel). In order to take out a court order against the alleged scammers, the Israeli Police have requested evidence that we have lodged with an appropriate law enforcement body in Australia.

The issue with the ACORN site is that it provides absolutely zero contact details via way of a phone call. It also allows only up to a maximun 1000 letter count when describing the events that transpired.

Are there any other avenues for lodging a report in Australia of this incident to meet the requirements of the Israeli Police that someone may be able to recommend?

1000 characters is simply nowhere near enough to describe what transpired. Also, there isn't a way to add any attachments in the online report through ACORN.

    Rang them.. They directed me to the local Police station.. I will ring them again tomorrow & request if there is any better way to lodge a report other the ACORN site.. Given the requirements.

  2 MS Paint diagrams will give you 2000 words

  Put a hyperlink to a PDF document stored in the cloud that contains the full story

  Why don't you just lodge it and give them the reference number?

  Alternatively, Local cop shop < Twitter < FB < local MP < ACA

  In that order
