Porting from Kogan to Boost - Looking for Advice

Hi Everyone
I came across the $300 boost deal discounted to $240 and ended up getting one.
It's been a few years since porting last, so is there anything I should be mindful of?

  • I have found porting to Boost is akin to playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets.

    • From post-paid or pre-paid?

  • anything I should be mindful of?

No. Just follow the online on screen instructions paying attention to keep your old number and not get a new one. If it was difficult no one would do it.

  • Spintel, aka optus to boost, only hassle was it wasn't done in the allocated time. Rang boost, done the whole process again and completed that day. My advice, don't wait too long just ring boost.

Maybe do some meditation or yoga beforehand. Practice doing the porting in your dreams, or role play with your friends/family. Ensure you have direct access to soup, and maybe baby powder too, incase your hands get sweaty from typing all those personal details or from the waiting game.

Just make sure you double check all the account numbers and account name/DOB etc that is asked is what Kogan has on file, and you'll be right.

  • Ported from Kogan to Boost (prepaid to prepaid) okay here. Just thought to add as usually all the bad stuff comes out and nobody says if it was fine.

    • Thanks for the good news.
Will keep everyone posted once the sim arrives

  • Was fine for us - pretty seamless, took less time than they told us. We ported out of Kogan to Boost last year. Will be renewing with Boost this year. The coverage has been great. I like being on Telstra as I work in a basement of a big hospital and previously had no service from Kogan (v-fone) at work, with Telstra (boost) it's been perfect.

  • Porting is fine, but the reception varies according to users. My experience has been horrible, Lebara (Vodafone) to Boost, barely any reception, if it wasn't for VoWIFI at home, I couldn't make/receive calls.

  • I just ported 2 numbers from Kogan to Boost and it took less than 5 minutes for each phone.
It can't get much better than that.
