However we are inspired by the bravery of those in the field and the community spirit of those donating and fundraising to help those in need out. In that same spirit we’d like to invite you to come join us at any of the below Zeus restaurants and make your lunch make a difference on the 21st January 2020.
We will be selling our famous pitas at a special price of $8* between 11.30am-3pm, with $1 for every pita sold being donated to the Red Cross bush fire relief fund.

In their menu, it shows gyros under pitas, and the only pita on the menu is under sharing plates

    ???

  • It's a pita there isn't an SA store…

    • There used to be a great gyro shop at Glenelg, near the tram terminus. Is it still there?

      • Last time I went there I had to meet with my bank manager after

    $1 lol

A pita is the same as a kebab.

  • It's all Greek to me.

  • As a Greek, I can't understand why there are countless different names all over the place…. Ask for a Pita here, it's a pizza style baked pastry with various fillings, predominately cheese… A souvlaki is meat on a skewer…. A yiros is soft pita bread wrapped around filling….

    • I was told that souvlaki is how the northern Greeks describe the gyros, and that has translated to Melbourne (and the rest of the country) because of the large population of northerners who migrated here?

And while we are at it, the variations in spelling :)

Who knows, but parents born in Greece, and I've always known it differently. Mother was actually in the Northern part too, her idea of a Pita of which she's always making, is vastly different.

Each state in Australia is different too.

In SA it's usually Yiros, not souvlaki or Gyro, or kebab…

  • Want a proper gyros in Australia gyradiko the best forget these Zeus ones lol

  • I love Zeus Street Greek for a food court lunch. Just ordered their lamb shoulder pita for $8, normally $13.50. They ask if you want to donate a dollar for the Red Cross for the fires, which I did as it's obviously still a great deal.
