Sunterra Solar - How are everyone's installs going?

Just wondering how everyone's Sunterra solar installs are going?

For me there is good news and bad news,

Good news, Solar is on my roof:

Bad news, They missed the beams of my Rake Celing and cracked my paint, & Gyprock:

I am not that mad as I understand mistakes happen and it's probably a dificult job to line up the supports with the beams. I am just hoping they take responsibility and fix it up. Spent 2k getting it all repainted last jan.

Thankfully I haven't paid yet. I probably won't until they fix it.

  • FYI, your last link gives a "request permission" page, you might have to change a setting.

I'm not familiar with the install process, but missing the beams seems pretty fundamental. Is the ceiling somehow bearing some of the weight ?!

    • I fixed the link. I think it's mean to be the ends of the railing that screw into the beams. But either they have missed the beam and screwed it into the gyprock on that side, or have accidentally stepped on tiles that are not supported by the beams.

        Rookie mistakes in any case.

Hopefully they will agree to rectify the damage…

I got my solar installed by Sunterra in October 2018. Just ticked over the $1000 of electricity generated according to the app. I paid $1800 after rebate so by this time next year it will be all profit!

No issues with the install or service on my end.

mee too, mine is closely reaching 1 year mark and already gave me over $1000 in savings, by the time my AGL 20c FIT expire I'll pretty much pay off mine. Installation was all good, the only issue with them was the delay, I had to wait nearly 3 months for install and on the install day they didn't have the smart meter so had to wait for another 2 months for that one to be fitted.
