    Such an awesome game.
Wasted way too many hours playing this.

If you enjoy Civ but want something deeper and more complex, a lot more complex, give this a try.

  • +2

Hi Op - sorry for dumb question, so for a buck I get fully functional Europa Universalis base version?

    • +1

      Yep. 1 American dollar.

  • Seems to be missing the Conquest of Paradise expansion?
Steam reviews for it are mostly negative so maybe not worth a buy.

Supposedly another expansion coming sometime in 2020

Do NOT activate the base game.

Activate the Upgrade Pack (last key if you buy tier 1) as it is in fact extreme edition which includes the base game!

  • have a spare EU IV base game key if anyone wants one

    • If still available I'd put my hand up for it. As I am abroad currently Humble won't let me buy anything with my Aussie cards - they keep reviewing my purchases and then reject them. Very frustrating.

      • sent you a PM.

Thank you good sir/madame. Your lightning fast service and generosity is very much appreciated.

          • @Lysander: Cheers for the tip on activating the Upgrade Pack first

I probably shouldn't buy it given my complete failure to play Crusader Kings 2 for more than an hour, but so tempted…

    • Is this more or less or the same complexity as CK2?

      • +1

Yeah, on par to CK2 I reckon, in terms of complexity. Slightly different focus though. EU4 is more nation/empire management rather than CK2's focus on dynasty.

For what it's worth, I think EU4 is the better game.

      • +1

I think it's probably easier, though they're both quite difficult.
I've got thousands of hours in EU4 but could never wrap my head about CK2. Just seemed too fiddly and complex in its minutiae. Possibly due to coming into it after many expansions while I've followed EU4 since its launch.

  • I have more hours in Crusader Kings 2 than I wish to admit. One of my fav games of all time.

Tried Stellaris and whilst it is good now (hated it on release and I'm not alone there…) it just doesn't hold my interest like CK2 does.

EUIV seems to be most peeps Paradox favourite so keen to jump into it. Great deal.
