Quick Amazon prime shipping question

Hey all, got Amazon on the chat haggling over a shipping question.
I have an Amazon Prime membership (AU) and was under the impression that shipping was free for prime members if ordered from the AU site and also free from the U.S. site for orders over $49. Am I wrong?

        is the site you are trying to buy from saying they do Prime. Not all places allow Prime shipping.

          The bit where shipping is free from the U.S. for orders over $49. Now they seem to be saying that my Prime membership only works on the au site?

            This comment is confusing. I'm not sure if this means that it needs to be on the AU site but is bought from US?

          Thanks for that, the chat guys credited the shipping for me so main problem solved.

          Here's confusing bit *For Prime eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon US that collectively exceed $49 on amazon.com.au.

          So for what the guy is telling me the items have to be listed on BOTH sites and if the price on the AU site is over $49 then free shipping from the U.S. applies. Items not listed on the AU site don't count towards the free shipping. SO then I guess the only benefit is if the items on the AU site are way overpriced compared to the U.S. site we could save money by ordering from the U.S of they are over $49.

          I need a BEX……

            @EightImmortals: Yeah, the item needs to be listed on amazon.com.au. The Prime membership is linked to your amazon.com.au account.

            Amazon US is the seller on amazon.com.au.

      I was chatting to the U.S. guys (probably in Asia. :) ) as I was ordering from the U.S. site.

          I was polite but persistent and in the end they offered to credit the shipping, I didn't ask for it.
