[Cancelled, NSW] Free 1000 Bubble Teas, from 6pm 31/1 & 7/2 @ Burwood Chinatown (Burwood)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Update: due to current community health concerns, the Lunar New Year festival (and bubble tea giveaway) has been cancelled.

The recently opened Burwood Chinatown is giving away 1000 freebies for Lunar New Year.
In late 2019 a neon-lit hawker-style food alley opened in the inner-west suburb of Burwood. Haven’t checked it out yet? Here’s a good excuse: free bubble tea.

The giveaway will be split across two dates – meaning double bubble trouble. There’ll be 500 up for grabs on both Friday January 31 and Feburary 7. From 6pm, head to Chatime, Cha Ball, King Tea, Milk Flower, The Burwood Hotel or The Whale Tea to snag a milk or fruit tea – for free.

Ever since they put banner ads in the station that doesn't even have English onit.

      • Is it even legal without using English?

I'm not completely convinced by the article you linked, had a quick skim and I have a lot of questions…(BTW, I'm in the medical field for what it's worth).
First story “While gathering further medical history, the young patient said he had had a cup of bubble tea about a week before his symptoms began." Ummm tapioca has a ridiculous amount of water, and to form faecoliths like that would require much much more than a single cup of bubble tea.
The second image is almost definitely a fake image, tapioca pearls shouldn't be able to be viewed on an CT like that, unless there was some sort of mystery ingredient that makes them show up on XR/CT (can't think of any that are common additives for making pearls).

I could be completely wrong, feel free to correct me or have any other input.

It's just fake news. Don't read news.com.au. "This article originally appeared on The Sun and was reproduced with permission." But if you follow the link at the bottom of the article, it's already deleted from The Sun (which is more fake news).

  • I thihnk its cha ball make or the one next to the dumpling store makes their own "Flower balls" Very unique.

  • I really want to learn how to make this at home as Taro Milk is one of the few drinks I actually still fully enjoy just have not had time to look it up.

I watched videos ages ago on how to make it and the pearls but forgotten all of it now but this deal/freebie makes me want to revisit that idea.

I could drink Taro Milk by the gallon honestly.

  • Thanks! free is free, cant complain.

  • Burwood Chinatown??? I live in burwood, never knew they started calling that half built building a chinatown

  • Keep the drink. I come for the free straws.
