Leaky brand with containers, does this also leak too?

Lol, I was going to say the same thing!

Hahah, glad I'm not the only one. All the clear containers with blue seal leaks. Pretty bad R&D imo.

If they're not watertight they're not airtight, thus rendering them pointless for food storage in my opinion.

I use this as i am a mobile detailer, i put about 10 - 15 ice cubes in it and still usually have icy water around 5pm (start at 9)

Havent tried anything hot but it really does keep things cool all day

      Edit- i also work woolies

Mate, if you’re a mobile detailer and out in the heat you need to be drinking more than 1L of water during your work day!

          Thanks Doc

        • yeah 1L isn't much at all, i take a 5L bottle to work most days

      • Haha i have 2 of these and a 1.5L one i should have added

This heat has been insane lately

        • What's your 1.5L one? Have been searching around for a good large insulated bottle.

          • @DGH: Oasis 1.5L bottle, actually got as a gift from a client

Its awesome, can’t comment on the hot side though as only used for cold water

      • I'm not really a fan of Sistema brands. They are okay, but still hesitant about this bottle.

  • Are the lids plastic?

    • +2

It's all metal, even the lid

      • +1

Picked one up. Lid is in fact part plastic, but it appears the parts of the lids that come in contact with the water are either silicone or steel, so should be fine.

  • Wish the lids were tethered to avoid losing them (ask my kids…).

    • One of those silicon wrist band things works week around the bottle so you can then tie a string tk the band and the lid.

I've bought one from a previous deal. Doesn't leak, feels pretty solid and keeps liquid cool well. However, for me the issue is the opening, it is too small to comfortably drink from.. It's hitting my nose. For my wife it is fine, I guess it depends on your nose-size :)

    • lets just say i could probably hang it from my nose…

    • Why does your nose need to go in it to drink? Or is it just an awkward size?

      • +4

Lol, hard to explain really. If the opening was smaller then it would be fine, like drinking from a coke bottle, if it was bigger it would be like drinking from a glass, but instead it's right in the middle so that the top of the opening is right where my nose is. Hope that makes sense and I'm not the only one experiencing this 🤷‍♂️😂

    • Seems like it's a hit or miss for some people. Perhaps depending on batch. The above comments people don't like Sistema

  • how is this in comparison to "Klean Kanteen"? KK is pretty solid but damn expensive 80$

I bought one yesterday, was waiting for it to go half price. For $15 I feel it's pretty nice and solid. I like the handle on the lid, easy to hold as 1Ltrs double walled makes it bit bulky. I will try the cooling and let you know guys.

    • How did you go

      • I bought a couple yesterday, filled one with cold water from the fridge at about 6pm and it's still cold now. Seems decent.

  • Any other suggestions for a solid metal bottle?

  • This is awesome. I filled it with cold water and ice 24 hours ago and the ice is still floating around in there. I'm buying another. Love that it's 1L, most brands top out at 600ml

EDIT: More like 20hrs and the cubes are melting so I'd say they will be melted at 24hrs but the water should still cold at that point.

  • I use it at the office everyday. Leftover hot water is cool by the next morning so it's pretty good for me. Seems reasonably well made in my experience.
