Depends if you are interested or serious.
If you are serious, you want to keep the wines at a specific and consistent temperature. A small bar fridge is not going to cut it for that; there are plenty of specific wine fridges on Gumtree to start you off, or you could jump in with those on offer from the retailers.
You need to consider how many bottles you intend to cellar.

BTW, you don't need to refrigerate the wines if you have a good cellar that provides the same consistency.

Agreed on getting a wine fridge off gumtree, honestly don't buy retail.
Having said that i do have a 2 year old $1,500 Vintec 155 bottle wine fridge that spewed refrigerant everywhere. Turns out they're not as premium as the name suggests after browsing through forums with pretty average compressors, now is a pretty storage cabinet.
My backup is a thermoelectric one that's cheaper to run and doesn't have the issues of faulty compressors. Kogan ones also seem decent value but can't comment on the quality.

    casks stack

  • If you can locate a thermoelectric one they are better. We’ve had ours for over 20 years and it still works well. The company we bought from was Australian and isn’t in business anymore.

  • I'd go with the wine fridge by Polar- you can find it here https://www.nisbets.com.au/polar-wine-cooler-fridge-48-bottl…
It can hold 48 bottles and is $550 which is way cheaper than the other ones I saw online.
