      Haha, I don't think they'll be that strict mate, prolly just wanna avoid someone grabbing a random photo from the net and saying "yea that's me volunteering".

        Spot on. Sadly, we’ve already seen some people taking advantage of this terrible situation; when they weren’t actually affected or anywhere near the fires, saying that they were and hoping for handouts. Sad but true

        • There is only one way to fix that, mandatory court ordered fire fighting service.

          As someone who's house almost burnt down 2 years ago from a much smaller bush fire than these I can tell you it's like going into he'll to go to these places… it was 1 street away from us, like 100m…
