Blue Badge Insurance for Cars

Has anyone had any dealings/insured with this company? They insure Disability card holders (mobility card holders) and also scooters. I'm looking at $150 less to insure my car but the only reviews I can find are on their website and somehow 'Jenny' who says they're great doesn't instil confidence. Nothing on Whirlpool (good or bad) but after a few reviews on here about budget car insurance etc. not sure if I'll change from AAMI who I'm currently with.
Thanks in advance to all you knowledgable people on here. I have a clean driving record and no claims in last 10 years or so.

  • I wonder if they assume that people with disabilities would drive more carefully and hence are less risky?

    • I've seen some 'cut snake' type driving from several people with wheelchairs strapped to their roof so I don't think that really holds true.

      • I went to their site to have a look and this is what I found:

As Australia’s first independence and mobility insurance specialist, we know that disability parking permit users are typically safer drivers – and we think you should be rewarded with lower insurance premiums

Guess they're the ones taking the risk, not us!

  • Check whether they are regulated and who the under writers are. Then check the contract. They might be cheaper because they got an out clause.

  • I received the full PDS today so I will check up on the details mentioned above-thanks to this who've replied.
