1kg Bag of Crompton Road Coffee $42 (Was $52) + $7.70 Delivery/Free Pickup in WA/VIC @ Five Senses Coffee

straight-outta

Surprised that no-one has posted this yet, judging from the rave reviews and positive feedback on their coffee and service.

I got this from being on there mailing list, just a day after I had ordered one at full price. The code seems generic and not targeted.

Received it today, and absolutely love the blend with rich chocolate flavours.

Time to stock up if you love their coffees!

Just what my cold brew is missing, some Ice Cube's!

  • Actually never tried it but heard nothing but good things from this company :)
Might buy a bag to put to the test!

  • I’ve had great results with their cleanskin too, which is around this price all the time

How are you storing 1kg because after a week of being opened it tastes totally different. I've got my eye on a couple of Fellow Atmos vacuum canisters. One 500g and one 250g so that I can use 250g at a time but keep the remainder fresh.

    • Oh my. I’m in uncharted territory. I’ve never stored them in vacuum canisters. This is something I need to learn about!

      • I've been playing around with beans and grind settings lately. I got 1kg of Aldi Columbian single origin which is actually very good for $13. It's never going to be as good as these beans but they are great for when no offers are on. However, after a week they really didn't taste great and I threw half of them away. I want to buy 1kg at a time as it's better value but only if you can preserve the flavour of them. Otherwise it's a waste of money.

    • Been using the Atmos cans for a while, I would def recommend them.

Tried the CR and Dark Horse Blend which is my fav.

      • How soon after opening the pack should I vacuum them away? I read in the Five Senses rep post to allow a few days for degassing…..

        • 5-7 days after roasting is enough time in my opinion. Roast date and delivery date and opening date… how long is a piece of string?

Not an expert here, but I usually store in Atmos right after opening. I doubt a 100% vacuum seal can be achieved with any of these canisters. From the reviews and expert comments I read a while back Atmos gives the closest air tight seal. In short degassing would occur even after emptying them from the bag to Atmos.

Pick up from Rockingham… My life is not worth the $7.70 saving.

  • While not ideal, if I have a bag of coffee I want to open that has a one way valve on it, I open the bag on the opposite end of the valve using scissors. I then take what I need and re-seal the bag using a clip. Again, not ideal but still trying to find some decent reasonably priced vacuum canisters.

I prefer filter coffee & cold brew.
So I usually go for medium roasts instead of the dark roasts.

    These guys are really good.
Would highly recommend them to anyone who hasn't given them a try.

  • Love the voucher code

  • Thanks, gave it a try
