How did you know its AC? Its got reversible function to use in winter… which i figured was only a DC motor function…
You can reverse an AC motor.
AC is OK. I have both types and AC is quieter, simpler and more solid. My AC has a reverse switch.
It is hard to install this kind of fan. And I did not see it in Dockland this morning.
Yes horrendous to install. Hand held remote is far easier so no need to chase multiple cables down walls and big $$ for electrician.
These are illegal & difficult to self install.
If you really want to DIY, (it's still illegal) your best bet is to replace an existing light and get a fan with a light & a remote.
IIRC Sparkies charge ~$150 to install a fan.
Agree - illegal to self install.
I think $150 for a lecky would be for a very simple install (easy under roof access straight over the room with simple path to power supply), e.g. single level house or top floor of 2 storey, to take under 1 hour.
Still, very cheap at this price.
I was at Costco docklands about 12.30 there was heaps on the floor
