Cleaning a Fabric Loungesuite

We are moving house and my wife thought it would be a good idea to get our couch steam cleaned before we moved so it would feel like a new couch at our new house.

However the best quote she could get for our two seater plus chase was $180.00. I think that is way too much.

Can anyone recommend a contraption that we can use to clean this couch much cheaper? Happy to buy something that can do this task again in the future.

Thanks.

You can hire a Britex carpet cleaner from Bunnings and Woolworths. I think it is $49 for 24 hours or something similar. You can hire a sofa attachment for an extra $5 (from Bunnings, not sure about Woolworths). You will also need to purchase the Britex cleaning products to go with it which obviously increases the price too. The cleaning products can be used multiple times if you hire the Britex again in the future.

The Britex does an ok job, but it will not be anywhere near as good as the professional clean for $180. For me personally, I would pay the extra for the professional clean. Full disclosure though - I am super fussy about things being clean. I got rid of all my fabric sofas and chairs several years ago in favour of leather, specifically because I could clean them more easily.

  • Yeah go the professionals for a full sofa. If it was just a spot, you could use a bissell machine
