  the weekend and holiday surcharges really sting on these. $269 is decent for 2nights, but $449 for two nights in Nelson Bay is overpriced.
  Also - be aware that housekeeping (daily service) is not included in this price.

    exactly my thoughts - the weekend surcharges are a killer and in a way the "(Was $538)" statement would be misleading to most people, as I assume most people would be looking for weekend dates

  we went to nelsons bay in Nov and living in this hotel with Groupon voucher.
  Have to say the room was quite old and a bit smelly. The pool was small as well. Not recommended at all.

  Dear OP,

  The "was $538" is misleading and not correct unless the $538 excluded Fridays and Weekends also.

  Please correct this (or correct me if I am wrong).

    Hi OzyBe,

    If you choose to stay over the weekend the price comes out to be $449, which is still heavily discounted and $150 less than if you were to jump onto booking.com.

    Hi 51ngh,

    I know it's easy to get thrown off by the existence of a surcharge, however, if you were to look into it, you'd see that even with a surcharge - a weekend stay is heavily discounted off any rate publicly available.
