Online Orders from China Stuck in Limbo Due to Corona Virus?

So I placed a bunch of orders on ebay and Aliexpress from Chinese sellers over the past few weeks. To date, many of these orders are still not shipped. Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

    welcome to Aliexpress.

More affected by Chinese New Year than the extra week's delay caused by 2019 nCOV.

Anything ordered after about Jan 17 is unlikely to have made it out of China before CNY anyway.

It'll be more than extra week from the provinces which are most affected

Official government mandated holiday only ended today. Some places have extended it by another 7-14 days.

I have a 2k order from alibaba that’s still waiting to be processed.

  • Now now, I am sure somone else will remind you that your parcel is just as likely to be delayed by the common cold than by the corona virus!

I'm waiting for a bunch of camera accessories for a trip in April. Not sure if it will arrive in time. But I guess the silver lining is that the trip might not happen because we'll all be dead by then..

  • Waiting on an order from eyebuydirect - logged in today and was notified it has been delayed by a week or two

  • Yeah, I've got one from Aliexpress that hasn't been shipped (ordered on the 25th)

  • Yes I too have a purchase from AliExpress that has been waiting to be shipped since before CNY and they keep extending the shipping from week to week blaming the corona virus. I'd know when it will be shipped.

    • Got an email from AliExpress y'day saying my order has been shipped.
      We wait and see.

  • As well as holidays etc causing delays the huge reduction in flights may also extend delivery time.

  • Yeah I have 2 orders from the 21st that haven't shipped.

I have a buy from TobyDeals from late Jan that hasn't moved from its initial status.

Assumed it was just waiting for everyone to come back from Chinese New Year.

On the 2nd of Feb AliExpress extended the processing time for unshipped orders by 18 days. If you were 2 days off from getting an automatic refund due to not shipping in the processing time, it has now become 20 days. AliExpress have also advised that sellers will starting shipping out orders from the 9th of Feb.

The 9th is also when companies only started to open back up, albeit with a lot of restrictions. Staff get temp checks twice a day, provided with masks, alcohol-based hand sanitiser and the whole company shutdown if someone tests positive to name a few.

The extended closure has resulted in a lack of supply for a lot of products which has a direct impact on many of the AliExpress dropshippers and other Chinese/HK stores. Through my own job here in Australia I'm having trouble getting sufficient stock from companies like Lenovo and HP for the same reason.

  • I treat orders from Aliexpress like I do baked potatoes. I put one in the oven/order something when I don't want one because by the time it's done/arrived, who knows?!

    I miss you Mitch.

  • Government extended the quarantine time. Companies are likely to be closed until the 17th.

    • Depends where they are.
      My Shenzhen suppliers are back.

      • Shenzhen. It's optional.

Some aliexpress sellers have added the information to their items about the delay, its not a message on the front page because that would send people elsewhere for sales.
One item had the message that they were closed until February 18th, as per a mandate. This means the factory and workers are told to not work until that time. My friend in China said that most provinces are shutdown/closed off similar to hubei, and this has disrupted transport.
I've got unread messages from 2 weeks ago for sellers. They'll be back.
I'm sure there will be a huge rush at the end of the month, lots of catching up for sales. Huge impact for sales out of china.

    • Thanks for the update. Appreciate it
