    Zzzzzzzzz, archaic specs

    • Got any other suggestions for less than $200?

      • LeTV

        • With 2 year local warranty and guaranteed updates?

          • @Tiggrrrrr: Hello. Yes it is Australian stock with 2 year warranty. With reference to updates it depends on Samsung.

            • @Cellmate: My question was regarding the LeTV.

AFAIK the A20 has a guarantee of at least 4 updates.

              • @Tiggrrrrr: Wondering what kind of updates the A20 is guaranteed, security or os updates?

Where did you here about four guaranteed updates.

Got a Vodafone prepaid A20 and I pretty sure I had an update on first boot up as well as a security update for November 22/2019, no more since to date.

@ozhunter68: Can't remember the exact source, but the gist was that they would provide at least 4 updates in the first year.

                  Here's a link to Samsung's update schedule.
The A20 is due for quarterly updates, so if you had one in November, then there should be another by end of march.

Edit: Google’s contract with Android partners stipulates that they must provide “at least four security updates” within one year of the phone’s launch. Security updates are mandated within the second year as well, though without a specified minimum number of releases. The terms cover any device launched after January 31st, 2018 that’s been activated by more than 100,000 users.

Given that the A20 was in the top ten of phones sold last year at a respectable 7th place, I'd say it has been activated by over 100,000 users.

Hello. We apologise that our deal did not meet your expectations.

      • Apologies are a sign of weakness. Don't give in. 😅

Thank you. We are a small business and try really hard to get the best deals

          • @Cellmate: Best price for an unlocked A20 right now, good deal for people who don't want to fiddle

around for an unknown time and possibility to make mistake with tricky unlock.

@ozhunter68: Thank you for your support

              • @Cellmate: Yeah, just thought I had to clarify here and balance things out a bit as many people compare most deals to the Cheapest Deal Ever which is unfair.

And because some people have more time and technical know how than others, they measure deals according to their measure and forget many people value ease of convenience highly.

@ozhunter68: Thank you mate. It is extremely difficult for a small business like ours to compete with the big national retailers as they get special deals from the manufacturers themselves. At times the price at which they sell is not even our cost price and in that too they make money.

                  • @Cellmate: Used to work for the older Coles/Myers years ago, so I know how they roll.

It's technically a good deal for an unlocked phone, however it's very easy to change the SIM code on Samsung phones for $5, which makes this deal pretty pointless. Better off selling locked Samsungs on OzBargain.

Where is an easy quick $5 unlock code for the A20 ( without any other software workaround )?

Some people could be put off by this workaround as not as straight forwards as getting a code and entering, done.
