  • Great deal, thanks

Meh. The torch, for less, might be a good deal. The batteries ruin it for me, to be honest. I've got AAA eneloops and would rather use them. That leaves me with 42 useless batteries.

      Hey,

Just for you, and anyone else that is in the same boat, I've slashed the price of the torch for the next 12 hours only.

It basically at our cost price now, but we do need to move some stock.

      See: http://stealthdirect.com.au/productdetails.php?id=3

        You tempt me, sir.

      • Would appreciate that discount to my order ;)

        • That price/link in the comment above is for just the torch, not the pack which comes with 42 batteries.

      • $17 + $6 delivery = $23

    • depends how many eneloops you got. i always have normal batteries on backup
as the eneloops take 10hrs to charge.

      • Takes me around an hr or so to charge upto 8. :)

        I /always/ have charged rechargeables around :)

  • Done and ordered hope it gets here before fathers day lol

    • Should do, they are dispatched by standard aus post.

  • Plastic or Glass Lens?

    • Plastic.

  • hi, i ordered it just before you changed the price so just wondering if i could get the updated price.

    • Saw your email, will check and update if needed.

My dad prefers a more manly product http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/51591 :P

    • wouldnt that make him your mum

  • Does this have zoomable lens?

    • +2

Yes, zoomable lens / multiple power levels / water resistant … the full package.

  • Site security certificate threw an error on my phone "certificate not issued by a trusted authority" or something. But I'm a risk taker, I'm buying one for my dad anyway.

    • Hey, what phone is that? Will make sure the SSL is fixed up ASAP

Anyone that is worried, can just call to order.

      • Nexus S, stock browser, android 2.3.4

I also ended up kind of using a mix of my own and my dad's details. Might be worth setting up your page to allow 'billing address/contact details' and 'shipping address/contact details' so people can send gifts easier.

I used my own contact details (email, phone number, credit card number), but my dad's mailing address. I hope that doesn't fail the credit card payment.

    From the page:

"These details may not be correct and are for reference only"

Damned straight. Not a chance in hell this thing will do anywhere near 230 lumens,
especially with those worthless "high power" (is that like "heavy duty", ie carbon zinc?) batteries.

Combine that with the "3 hour" battery life - at 230 lumens form AAAs, and you sir will be getting the next Nobel prize in physics.

Better to get a 1xAA to reduce size, running cost and landfill, or an 18650 if you really want lumens.

It basically at our cost price now, but we do need to move some stock.

$17 wholesale? You seriously need to find a better supplier. Tried DX? :-)

      Hey Manic,

Just wanting to address a couple of your issues.

The message "These details may not be correct and are for reference only" is NOT on the product details page, and refers to the shipping information, eg. box dimensions/weight.

The batteries supplied with the torch are Panasonic Alkaline batteries.

We sell our own "Stealth" batteries that are comparable.

Buy one, and if your not happy with it, I'll personally give you(manic) a 150% refund.

      • it worried me too! will I get a 150% if I am not happy? :P
        (mainly cover the return postage)

I have few DX torch and I think this is pretty much the same as those…

    • Meh, not really. We don't ACTUALLY know he gets them for $17/pc, but I'd think that he'd be selling them at cost price ($$ of the unit and then the fees of running the business, customer service, staff etc.(

    • I'm assuming these ones are of higher quality and aren't going to take 3 weeks to come from China/ Honk Kong

      • my guess is they both are made in China and some items I have ordered from ebay HK / china have arrived in 7 days

  • Bought 5 torches, 2 of which is with the 42 battery pack. Only received 3 and 2 (torches only) are unaccounted for. Have already contacted and emailed the shop. Hope to have a good resolution from this transaction.

    • How are the 3? Worth the purchase? Is the light more powerful than a locomotive? Does it last long?

      • I have a LED Lenser P7 which is slightly bigger (133mm long vs 106mm long) and it takes 4AAA batts. On high power, the P7 is definitely brighter. On low power, the P7 is not as bright. Zoomed out, the P7 has a broader beam. The quality of the LED lenser is better though but the P7 cost me $36 with a nicer pouch.

still waiting on resolution on the missing 2 torches.

        • Should be all resolved now.

  • I got mine sent straight to my dad. Took a few days to get there. There was a small problem and these guys fixed it up within a few hours of getting my email and my dad got a replacement the next dad. Very happy with the customer service, and dad is very impressed with the torch.
