Is a Carpet Head Necessary for The Xiaomi Dreame V9?

Hi everyone,

So I'm looking to buy this stick vacuum https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Dreame-cordless-Handheld-…

However they also have the same model sold with a carpet head https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dreame-Cordless-V9-Vacuum-Cleane…

I'm wondering if it's worth paying extra to get the bundle with the head carpet?

I'm sceptical because I assumed that these stick handheld vacuums were designed by default to vacuum all surfaces (I didn't see Dyson stick vacuums being delivered with a carpet head)

Also with regards to this particular offer. The head carpet doesn't seem to be an official accessories of the Xiaomi vacuum as the colour is not as white as the other accessories and the design of the carpet head isn't as sleek as the other as the other heads that comes with the vacuum.

Does anyone know if this carpet head was made by a third party?

This fact is making me even more sceptical about buying the version with a carpet head.

I never vacuumed a carpet surface and we just moved in an apartment with carpet so any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  • Probably not needed for short carpet.

It's an exact copy of the Dyson, the regular head for hard floors is a carpet like cloth roller to wipe the hard floors as it vacuums. The carpet head is more of a bristle brush to agitate carpet strands and free up schmoo.

    • Thanks for the explanation now I kinda understand better how a carpet head could be more efficient as vacuuming carpet.
How do you think the regular head would perform on short carpet or would you recommend to get the carpet head even for short carpet?

      • I have the V6 absolute with both heads. The hard floor head is not great for carpet, it's carpet like cloth against well… carpet. The carpet head with the bristles can do hard floors and carpet no problem, it's similar to the old Dyson Motorhead on the old DC models that could do everything.

        • Thanks, I just purchased the bundle withe the carpet head
