Can you please kindly share what price have you paid for kia cerato.
I am looking to buy and been to two dealers in sydney for cerato s safety pack my20 mats/mudguard/bootlliner.
Websites shows 23790
Met paint. 520
accessories. 500
I offered 20,300 and 20,500. But got declined.
In 2017 I negotiated 18500 for cerato s met paint and same accessories.

In 2017 I got it for 18.5k same accessories. I know their is safety pack now that’s why I increased my offer by $2k to $20.5k
RRP has increased by $1500 since then ($22,290 vs $23,790), add $1,000 for safety pack = $2500 more
That's a minimum offer of $21,000 to get the same deal.
But all depends on what bonuses are on offer to do the deal.
I can't suggest what you should offer as it depends on what they'll accept. You've found $20,500 was too low, and no doubt you got laughed out of the building and they didn't even bother with a counter-offer.
But he did increase his offer by $200? Maybe $20,700.
I'm a terrible negotiator, so after 1 no I'd just pay full price. :(

but you can get new one, i was talking to another dealer, they were willing to match price.
but i didn't, i gave honor to the dealer who offered good price to me at first.

@Ebisu: Might be a good idea to ask them to itemise what is included in the dealer delivery fee next time. My wife did it when she bought her Hyundai and a couple of those items were ridiculously priced. The 2 that I remember were $310 to vacuum the brand new car and $280 to fill up the tank.

The problem with time machines is that when you are trying to buy a newer vehicle with funds that had 2017 purchasing power in 2020.
When you unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum, you may destroy the entire universe!

And i test Drive MG Zs piece of junk, seat are so small and engine just grunt. I put foot on pedal and waiting for car to move in Eons.

It's Kia, they don't have $3,290 margin. You're asking for more than 10% on a sale price. You obviously need to come up on your offer
