Verbatim 2GB "Store N Go" USB Drive $4 (Bris)

11

Woolworths in MaCarthur Central (Brisbane CBD) have Verbatim 2gb "Store n go" USB drives on clearance for $4. For some reason they have removed the clearance label but I can confirm they still come up as $4 at the till. Seems a good deal as the cheapest 2GB usb on staticice is $5.50 http://staticice.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=2gb+usb&spos=1

About 10 in stock.

Back in my day…my first real computer had 2MB of 30-pin ram and a 40MB hard drive…

I have a computer (circa 1979) that has a sticker proudly announcing 4Kb RAM.

DSE gave out 2GBs free as well at a store grand opening.
Not really a bargain considering you can get 4GB for $2 - $4 on and off for the past year. It's ok for small applications like MP3 players and photo frames.
    MLN's got 8GB for $8 atm.

Yep got 15x 4GB flash drives (Lexar/Toshiba) from Harvey Norman for $4 each a few months ago. Supposed to be 1x for each customer but the cashier seems to be fine with it. Not to mention the 16GB ultra small flash drive from MSY some weeks ago for $12!

Not a good deal TBH. Who uses 2gb flash drives these days?

    • +2

Well me for one, I use it to take files between work and home that are too big to e-mail. I can't be the only one either as there are plenty of 1gb and 2gb drives in store. Just because you don't use them doesn't make that a valid reason to neg.

    • Op, it's not so bad a deal, but we've been spoiled by better deals from netplus, staples, mln, hn

    • Please don't neg for opinions like that.

  • You can get a free 1gb flash drive for free. Just follow the details in the link.

The Federal Government just launched the Small Business Resource Kit - a free USB flash drive filled with helpful resources such as checklists, templates, links, video files, audio recordings and handbooks.

Given the fact that Harvey Norman aren't giving any away at the moment and there are no Dick Smiths opening either I still think this is a good deal if you need a device straight away like I did. It was half the price of the next cheapest 2gb drive I could find in store in Brissy.

    • Why not add a $1-2 to get a 4GB one to store more stuff?

    • +3

No, the people on here would rather wait 6 months in the hope of scoring another free USB drive worth $4.

  • Not a bargain mate,it is everyday price but I appreciate your effort. Cheers

  • need to disagree with the 'seems a good deal' bit, when you used static ice, because when i used lasoo (i was sure they can be cheaper than 5.50) i found Adata 2GB C802 Black USB Drive (OW) for 4.78 which is the $4 range, showing that its not so good [the deal].

going into the 4GB range, i found an Imation 4GB Atom USB Drive (OW) for 3.95, beating the post by 5c as well as 2GB more. Even though out of stock, it can be used as information of possible prices when on sale.

sorry to make you feel bad, but hope you learn to research about prices!

    • …weird how there's no hyperlinking…
