Yoast SEO plug in for Wordpress website - is it worth it?

So my web developer has suggested installing Yoast WP plugin on my site. Reviews are that the free Yoast plugin does the job OK. My web developer is suggesting I buy the Premium plugin. I have no experience with SEO - so asking for advice and recommendations please.

I'd say start with the free version and if you find that you need some of the pro features then get it then. We use the free version only in our studio.

Thanks RA. Hoping my developer isn't trying to upsell something I don't need - I never buy "fries with that"

  • Full-time Web Dev here, Yoast Premium is definitely worth it down the road once you want to start doing specific targeting of keywords.
As richadam said above, start with the free version as you might not need the premium features for a while.

I work in SEO, and use The SEO Framework on ~40 clients sites. It is better than Yoast in my opinion, and is free with optional Premium. The premium features are not necessary, however.

  • If you are following Yoast recommendations to manage your seo strategy then it's probably worth it. If you are just using it to add and control seo related metadata then no.

  • The only SEO you should be worried about is having good content.

Submit to google, keep your website secure.

Everything else is just bullshit. If you want to promote your website, pay google.

    • You forgot backlinks…

  • Rankmath SEO works just as good as the Yoast paid version and Rankmath is free:
