this seemed like a good price

    No, this is normal price.

I agree. These "gaming" mics arent even worth it. You can get a cheap $35 dynamic mic w/ an audio interface and it'll still sound better than this and cost less. People are just playing extra for the useless polar patterns when all you're supposed to be using for solo streaming is the cardiod pattern.

If anything, the $80 Samson Q2U or the Audio Technica ATR2100 would be a better entry-level microphone.

Hell, just get a Behringer XM8500 and a crappy USB-to-XLR cable because of how little power it needs, and just built out your setup to a better XLR interface and microphone over time.

You can get the Neat King Bee from US Amazon for $200.

What audio interface are you referring to here? Got any suggestions?

Why are streaming products so popular nowadays? Is everyone streaming their gaming sessions?

Gotta love how this exact same stuff was less than $40 4 years ago. Now its all been marked up. Probably because of the NBN. Its hilarious how the same items/accessories can be bought from Chinatown for $15.

Streaming is such a cluttered landscape of amateurs all competing for a low audiences because theres very little english viewers at our time zone. If you really want success its best to just go the youtube route. Write a script, prepare a timeline, maybe a little narrative and edit video recordings to be entertaining.

To be fair, this is an AT2020 USB clone with the ability to modify the polar pattern, so it's not garbage.

Finding the same thing on AliE or imported would require a lot of sifting and testing, which is done far less with mics vs say headphones and IEMs.

Going to critique the reviews just for fun.

“Would recommend this microphone 1000% to anybody new to the microphone market”
    (100% is far from enough)

“- Written by a dude in school”
(seems like these reviews were written by ‘dude’s in school’)

Review Title by Curls is “Omg” and says “it is nice just being able to tap the mic when your mum walks in on your gaming session”
(Yes it is nice to stay out of trouble)

BigBlackMan23 says “my views have almost tripled!”
