Hi guys,

I pre-ordered a S20 Ultra 512GB after being offered a 20% student discount on the entire S20 range at Samsung Chadstone. They told me I wouldn't be able to get the Buds+ as a pre-order bonus unfortunately but that I would get a 10,000mah Wireless Battery Pack for free, which is pretty cool.

Staff member told me this was running throughout all their stores. Only thing I had to do was show my student ID card or proof of enrollment and sign some forms.

Pretty sure there's something similar on the online portal but this way you get it in store on the date! Not bad :)

      its never worth contracting for 36 months! Hell, Id argue that 12 months now is too long as the Optus 5G bonus double data offer is for 12 months only! Also the RRP pricing for these things has surpassed their usefulness. You can buy a 5G mobile from $500 and this is a TOP END PRICE for mobile… But hey, a fool and their money are soon parted and Samsung & Apple have set now benchmarks for early adopter tax, super high pricing!

      Proof is Samsung already offer 15-20% off RRP and last years top end S10's are now 50% RRP 2019 pricing…

    For the normal pre-order, they issue free ear_buds which is way more valuable than the powerbank. It seems Samsung just haven't updated their student portal. Can someone check on this please?

      No, both are legit promos. Samsung is not giving earbuds to the student portal because it is already cheap

    Is it worth waiting for prices to drop if I already have access to these discounts? I assume it'd take months for the phones to be as cheap (retail) as they are now with a student discount (i.e. $1600 for the Ultra 5G).

    I guess pre-ordering now with the student discount is the best I'd be able to get until 2021 or something. Thoughts?

    Does the sim card need to be a different card to access the G5 network? if you are upgrading from a G4 phone.

    Is anyone else not able to complete check out? It's saying that the battery pack has been removed from my cart due to insufficient stock, but keeps readding since it's a freebie lol and won't let me go through to payment. Very frustrating!

      I spoke to customer service. It's not actually out of stock and just a system glitch. I was able to place the order on Monday by noon.

      Seems they shipped early, just got the message from Auspost that it's available for pickup at the post office.

        Yeah, I figured that was the case. I ended up being able to place an order on Monday as well. Mine also shipped and will be delivered today :)

    I have the s20 4G 128gb in cosmic grey. Purchased yesterday from Good Guys with 20% student discount. If anyone is interested, up for sale per discounted price $1080. Which is what I paid.

    As new, only one day old used for a hour.

    Didn't like the Samsung coming from OnePlus 7t. Personal preference I suppose.

    Located in Western suburbs in Vic.
