    I wonder why…

Marketing 101 says you don’t discount your stuff by this much if you’re running a premium brand. And if you can afford to discount by this much, then maybe it’s not really a premium product.

Apparently corruption with the corporate business structure or some stupid things like that… But it still can be a great gift regardless for the price. Automatic and Swiss. Might even be collectable once it completely shut down xD

Yeah Rolex or Apple would skin dealers alive if they offered this kind of discount.

Doesn't look terrible but Swiss made means nothing to me these days.

  • Eterna bought by a chinese company some years back - wonder what these new owners have done to the quality and brand.

  • On sale for about the same price at Jomashop https://www.jomashop.com/eterna-heritage-watch-2956-41-13-13…

Eterna was the original manufacturers of what is now known as ETA watch movements (now owned by the Swatch Group). Was split off ages ago, and the ETA part was where the money is.

As this has an ETA 2681 movement in it, it is likely to be pretty good but more probably in the $US1,000 to 1,600 price range, same as Hamiltons with the same movement (they are owned by Swatch, same as Blancpain, Breguet, Glashütte Original, Harry Winston, Longines, Omega, Tissot, and RADO ).

Drop are good value, but warranty is probably done by them rather than Australia.

  • Will it be an issue if I purchase a watch from Drop exceesing 1k AUD in value?
