Dashnex Reviews? Is It Reliable?

Hello fellow OzBargainers..

I was scrolling down through Facebook on my phone and I saw an ad or a post from Dashnex. It was a lifetime deal for a website and an ecommerce website per license for $17 (not sure of the currency, maybe USD?). However, I am unsure if it was legit or just a scam or just a poor service. I have googled reviews and to see if its a scam or not but no solid answer. The reviews seem to be mostly middle eastern looking people. The offer page seems dodgy but the reviews say the opposite. I have spoken to one of their support staff on their like page and only got 2 questions answered, still waiting for a reply on my third. I found out that it was a lifetime plan of $17 (??? currency) and that you get 1 website and 1 of their e-commerce site per license as mentioned before. My third was if the site(s) were up and running, is there a rule that might make them take it down or something like that for inactivity or with no to little traffic… Although the support has said that you can use your license whenever you're ready but not if you thought you're ready or are ready but just not getting enough traffic or activity.

So here's my question. Dashnex worth trying or using? Is it a scam or just unreliable?

I bought the basic offer and it seems pretty good for the asking price. I have logged into the account but I'm yet to host any website on it as I have another web host that I'm using for my main websites using wordpress. I'm pretty sure Dashnex only allows plain HTML websites and not any kind of CMS eg. Wordpress type sites. If you are just hosting basic bootstrap or html style websites then this offer would do the job for the lowest possible price!

    • What webhosting service are you using for Wordpress/CMS sites? Just curious if I were to change my mind about using plain HTML sites, might consider starting up a Wordpress site or something. Also by plain HTML, does that include PHP and MySQL as well or just the simple HTML basic static pages?

  • Hi there. I was also wondering the same. Any further progress on your question. Did you sign up? Any good?

    • I have bought it and everything seems good for the value. Lifetime license, what could go wrong with that? However, the site itself is limited to HTML and CSS (and assumed JavaScript as well) as jono1971 mentioned above. Anything that requires a database or PHP will not work. I haven't got around with actually using the HTML site or the eCommerce site but it's a lifetime plan. One payment is all you need and forget about paying more or recurring payments. When you do get it, there are tutorials to help you get started as well so that's an upside if you're clueless on what to do with it. I hope this helps with your decision and I am sorry for being 2 weeks late to reply to this, been busy.

  • I signed with Dashnex last year with their $17 offer and now have received an email to update my credit card details or my account will be cancelled.

I am wary of updating my card details in case they intend to charge their $497 annual fee after saying it was a one off payment of $17.

Were they playing with their wording? Does their offer mean $17 for the first year and $497 each year after that for a lifetime licence?

I have contacted support and am yet to receive a reply.

    • EDIT: I have now heard back and been told that I do not owe them anything at all and to ignore the request for card update. It is apparently a glitch with their billing system that does not permit it to be turned off. It seems that Dashnex, so far at least, is genuine :-)
