Sync Cable for iPad Pro?

Got my iPad pro 11 last Dec. Haven't sync to my PC before so decided to try earlier. My PC and laptop couldn't recognise the iPad! Tried with several USB A to USB C cables to no avail.

Does the iPad pro require some sort of special USB A to USB C cable in order to sync? The cables I tried are able to charge the iPad, just couldn't get both computers to recognise the device. iTunes couldn't recognise the device too.

Thanks in advance.

  • Does the cable support data? Some cable only support power.

    • ahh maybe thats why. the cables i gotten are blitzwolf and tronsmart etc. not sure if it supports data. i guess its time to spend money to find one that supports data. is there a technical term that i should look out for in terms of cables that support data? is it MFI-certified cables like the below?

You need MFI-certified cables. Usually more expensive than the usual cheapo ones.
The original cable that came in the box should be able to do it.

    • the original cable only has a usb c to usb c. my pc doesnt have usb c onboard sadly. i also dont have an adaptor for usb c to usb a.

  • I had a similar issue with my ipad pro 11" and my macbook pro.

Found that the CHOETECH Hi-speed USB Type C Cable (USB-C to USB-A) worked. Purchased it on amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B078X3QZG4. Unfortunately it looks like it's out of stock.
