BBQ (Portable?) for under $100?

Hi guys,

Me and a neighbour are looking to get to know the other neighbours of our apartment complex by inviting them to a BBQ at the small lawn that we share.
Its pretty difficult to struck a long convo with each other, people seem to go straight to their apartment around here.

We thought of inviting everyone (with a flyer) to a nearby BBQ at the park, but we reckon most won't bother coming if its outside the apartment complex.

So, perhaps we just gonna use the BBQ once for this purpose only (at the lawn), so not going to be something expensive. Once done, we'll place the BBQ at a balcony (with the hope it will be used again— one day).

Any suggestion?

Buy an old beer keg, cut in half. Sell the other half to cover costs.
Find a welder to make an 2x X stands for the half you use and the guy you sold that other half to.
    Buy charcoal and a grate.
Profit with a delicious visual food experience.
If you build it, they will come.

  • You can purchase the long rectangle bbqs for that price. What's your location? Go into a middle Eastern shop and you can purchase it from there.

You will need extra hands if alot of people turn out.

    • And sometimes Asian Grocers too! I saw a bunch of them really bejazzled with dragons and whatnot being sold for 75 each at a Asian grocer in Adelaide.

  • small area - would not recommend a non-gas fire due to smoke and smell or burning the wood/charcoal… unless you know what you are doing.

    buy a couple of these

Make sure coal is burning white and theres no firelighter smell

    throw them out when done
