  Good question. The pack mentions "for best results: Use prewashed Cotton fabric, apply two to three light applications and let it dry between applications, and allow to dry flat overnight before washing".
  The ink is designed to not wash out of clothing or fade, so as long as you follow the best results directions, I believe machine washing will be fine. :)
